About me
I challenge young people to question the world around them. I demonstrate how computer science and social history are impacting their present and will influence their future. I emphasize "I can" over "IQ" and empower teenagers to have ownership over their lives and learning. I do this by nurturing divergent thinking and facilitating environments where technology is not only a tool but a means to "invent with" and not just "use". I am a teacher, what's your superpower?
Hailing from Fort Wayne, IN - born, raised, and giving back to each day. I have had the privilege of teaching at New Tech Academy at Wayne High School since 2011. I am a huge advocate for project-based learning and student-centered classrooms and love my job where we celebrate both culture and academics. Lucky in love since 2012 with my wife, Ashley who happens to teach art in the classroom next door to mine! We have a princess-loving kindergartener and toddler tornado two-year-old son! Lover of all things geeky, Marvel, Starwars, Hamilton, Audiobooks, Legos, bicycles, and music of all genres and types. Computer wiz and amateur developer, and on occasion moonlighting as a mobile DJ. Teaching students the wonders of Cyber Security, Psychology, Sociology, and of course, Computer Science.
