Courtney has 14 years of experience in education, beginning her career as a secondary English teacher—four years in middle school and nine in high school. While she’s taught every grade from 6–12, most of her classroom experience was in 9th grade English and 11th grade AP English Literature and Composition. (Her favorite book to teach? Jane Eyre.)
In her final three years in the classroom, Courtney also served as an instructional coach, supporting teachers in her building. She now works as the Secondary Literacy Curriculum Coordinator for Fort Wayne Community Schools, where she supports teachers and administrators in implementing curricular materials and effective instructional strategies.
Courtney is passionate about helping teachers discover their professional identity and believes that great teaching centers on planning meaningful, collaborative exchanges that spark critical thinking.
