About me
Krista Stockman, APR, is the Director of Communication & Marketing for Fort Wayne Community Schools, the largest traditional public school district in Indiana. Krista joined FWCS in 2007 after 10 years in journalism covering education, crime and wine. She make the switch to public relations when it became clear the life of a reporter didn't meld with being the mother of two toddlers, and her years of writing about education sparked a passion for the importance of telling the stories of public education.
She served as the District's Public Information Officer for 15 years, earning her Accreditation in Public Relations and Professional Human Capital Leadership in Education certification along the way. In 2022, she was promoted to Director of Communication & Marketing and oversaw the expansion of the department from three people to seven and adding student recruitment to the department.
When she is not at work, Krista and her husband serve as wine consultants for events and love visiting wineries and Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. She is also an avid cyclist who allows her husband to tag along on rides occasionally. Those toddlers are now a high school graduate and soon-to-be senior, proving every day what a difference public education makes in the lives of students.
